About Gilberto Izquierdo, Attorney at Law
Mr. Izquierdo is an experienced and zealous advocate. He has earned the respect of his clients, the bench, bar, and academia. Mr. Izquierdo received the “Outstanding Pro-bono Services Award” in 2007 by the Dade County Bar Association. He also handled a 2009 case in front of the Third District Court of Appeals, which led to a landmark published opinion in the Arrabal v. Hague case, which case was highlighted and analyzed in Florida family law continuing education credit seminars. Mr. Izquierdo also made the 2015 National Association of Distinguished Counsel roster of the “Nation’s Top One Percent” of attorneys. He also has a knack for settling cases. Given his vast experience and reputation, Mr. Izquierdo has the honor of being a college professor and published author at Miami-Dade College, under the School of Social Sciences. He teaches undergraduate criminal law, constitutional law, legal writing, and torts. Mr. Izquierdo authored "Consent of the Governed: the American Federal Government in Theory and Practice" in 2025. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, ”Gil” attended Catholic University, Jagiellonian University in Krakow Poland, and the University of Miami School of Law. On his free time, he plays the guitar and bass in a local rock band, and is an avid sports fan and family man.
